Johnson Capps Off Stellar Season for Babbitts Kawasaki with Denver Finale Victory

Reidman Sweeps Arenacross Lites Weekend

DENVER, Colo. (March 27, 2010) – Just 24 hours after Babbitt’s Monster Energy/TiLUBE Kawasaki’s Josh Demuth, of North Richland Hills, Texas, claimed his third career AMA Arenacross Series championship, teammate Chad Johnson, of Rhinelander, Wis., captured the 2010 AMA Arenacross Series finale on Saturday night from the Denver Coliseum to secure the runner-up spot in the AMA Arenacross class championship. U Motors Honda’s Tanner Reidman, of Bismarck, N.D., won his second career AMA Arenacross Lites victory to sweep the weekend’s races.

It was more of the same familiar dominance the series has become accustomed to with the Babbitt’s team as Johnson capitalized on a great start to put himself in position to grab his third win of the season. Tuf Honda’s Heath Voss, of Mico, Texas, took the holeshot for the second night in a row and led early. Johnson made his move just before the halfway point and never looked back. 2009 series champion Jeff Gibson, of Thornville, Ohio, grabbed the runner-up spot while 2010 AMA Arenacross class champion Demuth charged hard to round out the podium in third.

For Reidman, he had no challengers this weekend. Much like his performance on Friday night, Reidman grabbed the holeshot and never looked back, leading all 18 laps of the main event to cap off the most successful weekend of his young career. Gnarbars Honda’s Kyle Calderini, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and JO Suspension Kawasaki’s Hunter Meyer, from Black Forest, Colo., completed the podium in second and third, respectively.

In the AMA Arenacross class final standings, Demuth finished 24 points ahead of Johnson while their fellow Babbit’s teammate Tyler Bowers, of Danville, Ky., finished third for a Babbitt’s 1-2-3 sweep.

The AMA Arenacross Series will continue in May with the Amateur National Arenacross Championships from Las Vegas, May 8-9.
