Indianapolis - Indiana RCA Dome History
Each year the Monster Energy Supercross series heads to Indianapolis, Indiana.
The RCA Dome (originally Hoosier Dome) was a domed stadium, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The RCA Dome originally broke ground on May 27, 1982 and officially opened on August 5, 1984 at a cost of $77.5 million.
The RCA Dome officially closed on February 26, 2008 and was replaced by a new retractable-roof stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium roughly a block away from where the RCA Dome sat. The RCA Dome was demolised to make for additional room for the Indiana Convention Center.
