Carlsbad, CA – August 3, 2009 – Blake “Bilko” Williams impressed all in attendance at the ESPN X Games 15 Moto X competitions by securing two medals over the weekend. The Australian native became the first ever international competitor to seize the Moto X Freestyle gold medal Saturday night at the Home Depot Center. He also walked away with the silver medal in Friday night’s Moto X Best Trick held at Staples Center. Williams conquered the Freestyle competition in a quest for his first X Games gold medal. He secured the win with a one point lead and overall score of 87, bringing his total career X Games medal count to four. The 24-year-old also displayed tremendous skill in Moto X Best Trick where he landed his signature trick, the Flying Dutchman, leaving the crowd and fellow competitors cheering with excitement. His remarkable display of talent in Best Trick secured him a final score of 88.0 and a silver medal finish. “I just had to throw it all out there. My heart was set on getting a gold medal and I got it, so I am really happy. It’s awesome to walk away from X Games with two medals,” Williams said regarding his wins. Fellow Wasserman athlete, Nate Adams, rounded out the Moto X Freestyle podium with a bronze medal finish, making this his eighth X Games podium finish. Williams and Adams will compete next at the Wendy’s Invitational, the third stop of the Dew Tour, August 13th-16th in Portland, Oregon.
