Team Cobra Rolls Into Loretta’s As The Team To Beat
More than two thirds of all 4-6 and 7-8 50cc class racers will be on Cobras this year!

NORTH LIMA, Ohio, (July 27, 2005) – Officials at Cobra Motorcycles are proud to announce its strong line up for the 2005 Air Nautiques Amateur National Motocross Championships – aka “Loretta Lynn’s.”

All totaled, 67-percent of the 50cc 4-6 class and 7-8 class will be aboard Cobras this year. And to put that into ‘You’re either on one or chasing one’ perspective, not only did Cobra sweep both 50cc class titles last year at Loretta’s, Cobra bikes also took an incredible ten of the top 12 50cc Junior Class spots - including 1st through 7th - at the ’04 Ponca City Mini National (where they’re racing again this week), and swept both Olympiad trophies in the 50cc class at the Gainesville, Fla., Mini O’s – an overall combination of both supercross and motocross results for the racer.

This year has been no different leading up to the big race at the hallowed grounds of Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Starting things off in a big way at the season-opening Lake Whitney Mini National was Adam Cianciarulo (Osteen, Fla.). Cianciarulo and his Cobra King 50 were unstoppable - winning the premier 51cc 4-8 Open Stock Class by going 1-1 in the two moto format, then backing that up with a 1-1 finish to win the 51cc 7-8 Stock 2 class.

Next up was the Vegas Mini GP where it was again Cobra wunderkid Cianciarulo standing tall (all 4’ 4” of him!). The eight-year-old was nothing short of amazing, going 15-for-15 in moto wins at the long-running mini National, breaking a record set at the event by legendary racer Jeff Ward way back in the 1970’s. Cianciarulo kept things going through the World Mini Trophy MX Championships in Jamonge, Belgium, May 14-15, dominating the rest of the world in leading Team USA to the overall team victory.

A tough break for Cianciarulo just recently put him on the sidelines with a shoulder and thumb injury. However, word just came in that famed motocross physician Dr. Steve Augustine just gave Adam the green light to try and race Loretta’s next week. So, if all goes well for him at the opening practice at Loretta’s, look for Cianciarulo and his Cobra King 50 to be back up on the box once again in what will be his last race at Loretta’s on a Cobra King 50.

Plenty of other Cobra racers will certainly step up at this monumental event next week. Former Loretta’s champions Thomas Covington and Dalton Myers, multi-time Gold Cup 50cc champ Zac Commans, Connor Mitchell, Matt Burkeen and Jake Riggle will all be competing for the podium in the 7-8 class. In the 4-6 class it’s much more of a toss-up this year. "There are at least ten kids that could walk away with the title this year, and thankfully, all of them are on Cobras," said Bud Maimone, founder of Cobra.

“Speaking on behalf of all the employees at Cobra, we are honored to provide the championship-quality bike that these amazing young men were able to race in order to qualify for the greatest amateur motocross competition in the world.” said Sean Hilbert, President of Cobra Motorcycles. “We wish every one of these young men the best of luck next week at Loretta’s as they continue to build upon the legendary American-made heritage of the Cobra motorcycle.”

Cobra-mounted racers competing at the 2005 Air Nautiques Amateur National Motocross Championships – aka “Loretta Lynn’s” – include:
