Cobras Nest On Podium Of 11th Annual Lake Whitney Spring Motocross Classic
Cobras sweep the title in every 50cc class they entered, highlighted by 1st through 6th finish in 4-6 Stock Class 1 and Cianciarulos overall week
NORTH LIMA, Ohio, (March 16, 2005) – Let by junior motocross sensation Adam Cianciarulo (Port Orange, Fla.), Cobra Motorcycles started the 2005 amateur national motocross competition season with a bang, winning every single class they entered at the 11th annual Lake Whitney Spring Motocross Classic this past week/weekend in Texas.
Cianciarulo and his Cobra King 50 were unstoppable - winning the premier 51cc 4-8 Open Stock Class by going 1-1 in the two moto format, then backing that up with a 1-1 finish to win the 51cc 7-8 Stock 2 class.
“Adam is a special kid with a great future ahead of him and were very pleased to have him back on a Cobra this summer,” said Cobra President Sean Hilbert. “And if all goes as planned, as it did at Lake Whitney, hell have a Carmichael-like summer on his Cobra King 50 at all the major amateur national motocross events.”
Cobra racers were equally dominant in the 51cc support classes. In the 51cc 4-6 Class 3 Oil race, Cobra swept the podium with Michael Young (Concord, N.C.), Jacob Edison (Woodhaven, Mich.) and Jyire Mitchell (Ellenwood, Ga.) coming in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
Then, in what had to be the weekends most dominant performance out of any class in a multi-brand line up, Cobra captured 1st through 6th place in the 51cc Stock 4-6 Class 1. Cobra was led on the podium by Mark Worth (Queen Creek, Ariz.), Young and Edison in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
“I cant say enough for the efforts these kids put forth,” added Hilbert. “At Cobra we work very hard to design and construct the best possible racing machine for these kids. And when they do this well, and word gets back to our factory, you wouldnt believe how proud the people are who make these amazing bikes.”
Following the GNC MX finals in Oak Hill (Texas) this week, Cobras next big race is the World Mini Grand Prix in Las Vegas, April 11 through 17.
